Jamaal Hawkins joins the 6-4-3 office staff

6-4-3 DP Athletics is excited to announce that Jamaal Hawkins has recently joined its staff as the Coordinator of Instructional Services.  After several years with 6-4-3 on the baseball field, Jamaal is now a full-time staff member.  Jamaal graduated (Class of 2007) from Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia.  Jamaal earned first team All-State baseball honors as a high school senior.  During his final year at Sprayberry, Jamaal hit safely in 25 out of 26 regular season games.  As a 14-year-old, Hawkins played played summer ball for Danny Pralgo and David Carr.  

After high school, Jamaal attended Jacksonville University in Florida where he earned a baseball scholarship.  Jamaal was a three-year, starting shortstop at Jacksonville University.  As a college junior, he earned team MVP honors and All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors after batting .330 AVG with 9 HR and 50 RBI.

In 2010, Jamaal was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 28th round of the MLB Draft.  After playing professionally for two seasons, Jamaal returned home to Cobb County and finished his finance degree at Kennesaw State University (KSU). While finishing his undergraduate studies at KSU, Jamaal began to assist older age group teams within 6-4-3.  In 2013, Jamaal began serving as a coach and instructor for 6-4-3.  While he will continue to serve as a valuable coach and skilled instructor, we are excited for Jamaal to begin an administrative role with the 6-4-3 staff.
