New Shade Covers Enhance Field 2 at Aviation Sports Complex

Marietta, Georgia

Aviation Sports Complex in Marietta, Georgia, received a nice upgrade last week.  After a full week of construction, new shade covers were erected over the Field 2 bleachers.  Tonight, the new, bleacher, shade, covers at Aviation Sports Complex are making their event "debut" as the Triple Crown Easter Shootout tourney begins!  The improvement project was made possible by a very generous and anonymous lead donor, a small community improvement grant from The 6-4-3 Foundation, and additional support from 6-4-3 DP Athletics.  A special thank you goes out to 6-4-3 staffers, Jay Andrews and Nelson Pedraza, who carefully planned and supervised the recent project.

As an organization, 6-4-3 is incredibly proud of its home, Aviation Sports Complex, and its excellent condition.  The Field 2 shade covers are the most recent in a long list of improvements made to the facility since 2011 (ex. shade covers installed around Field 1, new scoreboards for all fields, retaining wall replacement, sidewalk additions and landscaping upgrades).  The City of Marietta owns Aviation Sports Complex and has an agreement in place with 6-4-3 to serve as its current operator (since 2010).

When asked about the significance of the completed project, David Carr, head of operations for 6-4-3 commented, "It is a joy for 6-4-3 to care for this fine facility and to enhance it over time in meaningful ways for the many patrons who visit.  We want, and expect, Aviation Sports Complex to be a highly desired, competition venue in the southeastern United States.  We are tremendously grateful for the various types of financial support that allowed this project to become a reality.  The shade covers not only provide spectators with protection from the elements and foul balls, but also dress up Field 2 nicely."
