TEAM CARSON and The 6-4-3 Foundation pound the pavement to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Atlanta, Georgia

This morning at 8:00am over 100 members of TEAM CARSON participated in the Atlanta St. Jude 5K Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer - #stjuderunwalk.  TEAM CARSON was organized to honor Carson Rozsman, a member of the 2016 6-4-3 DP Baseball 9U Cougars team.  Carson was recently diagnosed with an inoperable, malignant brain tumor.  Carson received treatment this summer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Organized by Robyn Tibbetts, TEAM CARSON was impressive not only in the large numbers that turned out to run/walk this morning, but also by finishing in the Top 4 in overall team fundraising (corporate and community teams) by raising over $8,400 to support St. Jude.

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.  Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since the hospital opened in 1962.  St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.

The 6-4-3 Foundation, the charitable arm of the 6-4-3 organization, proudly supported TEAM CARSON through a participation challenge by pledging to donate $20 per race participant to St. Jude (in addition to the money raised through race registration and other team donations).

A big thank you goes out to Robyn Tibbets for starting this initiative and to all the TEAM CARSON runners and walkers rallying together today to honor Carson Rozsman and raise money for St. Jude.
