Marietta, Georgia -
In celebration of this year’s July 4th holiday, 6-4-3’s baseball teams (25 in number) were doing much more than playing baseball or eating barbeque; our teams were preparing care packages for members of the U.S. Army’s 101st Combat Aviation Brigade in Afghanistan. The 6-4-3 Foundation, 6-4-3’s charitable arm, headed the initiative, providing the teams with boxes decorated like the American flag and lists of goodies to buy these brave and outstanding soldiers. The teams will be sending food, blankets, sheets, games, and even letters to these soldiers fighting for the freedom that we are celebrating. This is the inaugural launch of the “Adopt a Soldier Initiative”, which The 6-4-3 Foundation hopes to and is planning to continue for years to come. The simple goal is for each delivered box to brighten one soldier’s day.
Recently on July 9th, thirty-six (36) care packages were successfully shipped out of a Marietta post office to the deserving soldiers of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade currently serving our great country overseas.
