Marietta Fire Department claims third straight Marietta Softball Classic title

Marietta, Georgia -

On a beautiful Sunday, April 26th in Marietta, Georgia, the brave men and women of Marietta Fire, Marietta Police, Smyrna Police and Smyrna Fire squared off in the 3rd annual Marietta Softball Classic (MSC).  The charity softball tournament, hosted by The 6-4-3 Foundation at Aviation Sports Complex in Marietta, benefitted The Gold Shield Foundation of Metro Atlanta.

The day started with tremendously good weather and a group photo of the participants.  Then the teams battled one another in round robin styled pool play.  Emerging as the #1 and #2 seeds after pool player were the Marietta Fire and Smyrna Fire squads.  The Marietta Fire vs. Smyrna Fire championship matchup was a repeat of the 2014 championship game.  This year, and for the third year in a row, Marietta Fire (pictured to right) claimed the Marietta Softball Classic championship by beating Smyrna Fire by the final score of 8-2.
