This winter...6-4-3 SERVES!

Marietta Square – Marietta, Georgia

Earlier today on behalf of The 6-4-3 Foundation, 6-4-3 DP Baseball players, coaches and parents participated as race runners and event volunteers for the Sleighbells on the Square 5K Run/Walk to benefit the Cobb County Bar Children’s Emergency Fund which assists Cobb County School District and Marietta City Schools students and their families with emergency financial needs.  A big thank you goes out to the runners representing the 6-4-3 organization and specifically the 14 year-old academy teams: Justin Chick, Sammy Cohen, Sam Blancato, William Lybrook and David Paul Gernatt.  Coach Brandon Johnson, who also competed in the road race, medaled in the event by finishing third in his respective age group.  Another big thank you goes out to the other 30+ player and parent volunteers who assisted with the event's logistics.  For all 6-4-3 participants, thank you for volunteering early on a Saturday morning to help raise funds for a worthy cause and to support The 6-4-3 Foundation’s efforts!

This winter the charitable arm of the 6-4-3 organization, The 6-4-3 Foundation, is organizing service projects for academy’s student-athletes and families like the one mentioned above.  As our student-athletes continue to improve on the field, 6-4-3 also wants to create opportunities for them to learn life lessons off the field and to do good deeds in the community alongside their teammates.  Evolving our organization in this direction is not only the right thing to do, but also an intentional way to create a culture of volunteerism across all age groups of the academy.
