This winter...6-4-3 SERVES!

Cobb County, Georgia

Today on behalf of The 6-4-3 Foundation, 6-4-3 DP Baseball players and baseball players from Pace Academy volunteered at the 2016 Special Olympics Georgia State Indoor Winter Games. The group from The 6-4-3 Foundation was assigned to the men's basketball tournament held in Smyrna, Georgia, on Sunday after a long 48 hours of inclement weather related setbacks and schedule changes.  A big thank you goes out to the 15U players representing the 6-4-3 organization, as well as Josh Katz from the 12U Tigers, who volunteered today as score keepers, score board operators, team managers, cheerleaders and other roles.  While it was a great day helping to ensure the wonderful athletes competing in the Special Olympics Georgia Indoor Winter Games had an excellent tournament experience, the day was also filled by many valuable lessons for all from the participants on the court about competing to the very best of your abilities and doing so with class.  A very hearty congratulations from The 6-4-3 Foundation goes out to all participating athletes on the basketball court during the 2016 Special Olympics Georgia State Indoor Winter Games!  Nice job!

This winter the charitable arm of the 6-4-3 organization, The 6-4-3 Foundation, is organizing service projects for 6-4-3 academy student-athletes and families like the one mentioned above.  "As our student-athletes continue to improve on the field, 6-4-3 also wants to create opportunities for them to learn life lessons off the field and to do good deeds in the community alongside their teammates.  Evolving our organization in this direction is not only the right thing to do, but also an intentional way to create a culture of volunteerism across all age groups of the academy," commented David Carr, spokesperson for 6-4-3 and board member of the foundation.
