The 6-4-3 Foundation to complete 2nd Adopt A Soldier Initiative

Marietta, Georgia -

During the summer of 2015, The 6-4-3 Foundation (the charitable arm of 6-4-3 DP Baseball) created a program honoring those who serve our country so faithfully called ADOPT A SOLDIER.  Care boxes were created and personalized for members of the US Army Alpha Company deployed in Afghanistan.  In recent days, the foundation has been contacted by this company regarding a unit of soldiers in "the worst spot in the area of operations".  They have requested that we send care packages with necessities including snacks, baby wipes, magazines, body lotion, chapstick, iTune gift cards, beef jerky, flavored water packets, etc.  to an undisclosed location.  We have been told that, “these guys are in some rough places right now with nothing for amenities.”  We need your help to demonstrate just how much we care and appreciate their service to our country!

In an effort to have these packages completed and ready for shipment by next week, we are asking for monetary donations.  Each box costs about $125 including shipping and we have 72 boxes to create.  We have set up this opportunity for everyone to participate using the foundation's secure Paypal account.  We will purchase the requested supplies in bulk and host a packing party to assemble each care package.  Will you please help us meet this critical need?  Any donation will help and PLEASE share this info in order that we reach our goal as quickly as possible.  UPDATE: The care package packing party will take place on Monday, July 24th at 6:00pm at Aviation Sports Complex.  Below are some photos from our last campaign.  Let’s make this project even better!
A special thank you goes to Lisa Waters, member of the board of directors for The 6-4-3 Foundation, who sparked the project idea and has been working vigorously in order to have this goal achieved and support those serving our country.
