The 6-4-3 Foundation ships Adopt A Soldier care packages overseas

Marietta, Georgia

Yesterday, The 6-4-3 Foundation (the charitable arm of 6-4-3 DP Baseball) shipped nearly 50 care packages in a show of support to military personnel deployed in an undisclosed location.  The care packages were created and personalized for members of the U.S. Army's Alpha Company.  In 2015, The 6-4-3 Foundation launched its first Adopt A Soldier project with the U.S. Army's Alpha Company.  Earlier this summer, the foundation was contacted again by Alpha Company regarding a unit of soldiers in "the worst spot in the area of operations".  It was requested that the foundation send care packages with necessities including snacks, baby wipes, magazines, body lotion, chapstick, iTune gift cards, beef jerky, flavored water packets, etc.

Led by project coordinator and 6-4-3 Foundation board member, Lisa Waters, financial contributions were collected in an online fundraising campaign and then care packages were quickly assembled on Monday night during a packing party at Aviation Sports Complex (6-4-3's home).  A special thank you is extended to the many generous donors who helped make this project possible (and in quick fashion).  Also, a special thank you is extended to the many volunteers who gave their valuable time to help assemble the care packages quickly and successfully!
