Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Cougars (16U) squad for winning the Perfect Game 2019 Elite Underclass (17U) Championship tournament over the weekend. The 16U Cougars edged Team Elite 2021 Black in a thrilling 11-inning championship game on Sunday night by the score of 6-5. In the championship game, the Cougars overcame an early, two-run deficit to force extra innings and later overcame a three-run deficit in the 10th inning before walking it off in the 11th. The Cougars rode strong pitching and steady defense throughout the weekend, surrendering just eight total runs over five games. Trent Ringer (pictured below) earned tournament Most Valuable Pitcher for the event by throwing a seven-inning complete game shutout in the quarterfinals with four strikeouts, three hits and no walks. Congrats again to Trent and the entire 16U Cougars roster for their success on the diamond!
