Emerson, Georgia - 

Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Cougars (17U) squad for winning the 2015 17U Perfect Game/EvoShield Classic.  The Cougars tallied a perfect 7-0 record to claim the championship title capped by a 3-1 victory over the BigStix Gamers.  Pete Derkay homered to right to put the Cougars on top early and proved to be the difference in the game.

Along with the team's championship, Most Valuable Player honors were given to Pete Derkay and Most Valuable Pitcher honors were given to Patrick McDonald.  According to Perfect Game, Derkay hit .438 (7-for-16) over the event with a pair of doubles, his big home run on Sunday, six RBI and five runs scored.  McDonald picked up the win in both of his appearances, giving up just one earned run (0.72 ERA) in 9 2/3 innings, giving up only nine hits and two walks while striking out 14.
