Ryland is a special athlete out of Kennesaw Mountain HS who will graduate in 2019. A SEC football recruit, Ryland is a physical presence at 6’7", 230lbs. He is not just a big body through, as Ryland is an athletic C/3B/1B/OF. Behind the dish, Ryland has strong and soft hands, and is a huge target for his pitchers. He sets up low and is an excellent blocker. His footwork is clean and he has a strong arm. He is also a fearless leader. In the infield, he can play both corners, with good range and plays very low for a big man. In the outfield, he takes great angles with a strong, accurate arm. At the plate, Ryland has huge power that he creates with good leverage and extension. Ryland is a legitimate two-sport athlete, and will be a high level prospect that many elite college recruiters and MLB scouts will follow closely over the next 2 years.
Ryland has committed to play college baseball and football at the University of Georgia.
