6-4-3 DP Baseball's 17U Cougars win PG 18U WWBA National Qualifier Tournament

Marietta, GA (Cobb County)

Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Cougars 17U squad for winning the Perfect Game 18U WWBA National Qualifier tournament over the weekend.  The 17U Cougars edged Team Elite Black in the championship game on Monday night by the score of 2-0.  Jared Woodward started on the mound for the Cougars and contributed a strong 2 and 2/3 innings of work.  Andrew Herrmann then took over in relief and added 4+ dominant innings of work.   According to Cougars head coach Danny Pralgo, great defense and timely hitting led to the victory in the championship game.  Specifically, Ben Medley contributed a key hit-and-run execution while Josh Katz and Cooper Krause both laid down two perfectly-executed squeeze bunts.

Parker Lester, 17U Cougars infielder and Miami of Ohio commit (pictured below left), was named Most Valuable Player for the tournament for his weekend of work at the plate.  Andrew Herrmann, 17U Cougars left handed pitcher (pictured below right), was named Most Valuable Pitcher for the tournament for his weekend of work on the bump.

Congratulations again to Parker, Andrew and the entire 17U Cougars team for their first tournament win of the fall season!
