COACHES COMMENTS:
Antonio Jareno is a MIF/3B/OF/C/RHP out of Pope High School who is an absolute grinder. Antonio can absolutely mash, has plus bat speed and the ability to hunt pitches in the zone. He is never overmatched, and is also an unselfish hitter. Defensively, he is athletic enough to play both SS and 2B, with the arm strength to play third. He is also a serviceable outfielder. Antonio also has an upper 80s arm on the mound, with a hard breaking ball, and pitches with a closer’s mentality. Antonio is also working on catching, truly being an extremely valuable piece and true utility guy. A grinder in the classroom as well, Antonio will be a leader at a top notch college program very soon.
Antonio has committed to play college baseball with Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
