COACHES COMMENTS:
Jamel is a very strong athlete out of Chapel Hill HS from the 2018 class. Jamel is a true CF who can play the corner OF spots as well. On defense, he makes difficult plays look routine, and combines quickness and a good first step with great reads. He takes away what would be base hits, and has a strong, accurate throwing arm. At the plate, Jamel is a top of the order threat, who hits from the left side. He is an exceptional bunter, and can leg out routine ground balls. As he continues to get stronger, he will bring gap power to the offensive side of his game. Jamel is an instinctual baserunner and will take advantage of a lazy defense on the base paths. Jamel brings a high energy game which a number of colleges will be lucky to have.
Jamel has committed to play college baseball at Gordon State College in Barnesville, Georgia.
