6-4-3 DP Baseball's 17U Jaguars win PG Upperclass Fall Battle of the South

Marietta, Georgia (Cobb County)

Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Jaguars 17U squad for winning the PG Upperclass Fall Battle of the South tournament last Sunday.  In the rain shortened event, it was an all 6-4-3 finale as the 17U Jaguars beat the 16U Cougars by the score of 8-0 in the championship game.  In the championship, Devan Bhatia needed only 47 pitches to cruise through five innings of strong work on the mound for the Jaguars.  Matt Shook paced the Jaguars throughout the event going 7 for 15 at the plate with two doubles, a triple, a homerun, nine RBI, and eight runs scored over the weekend.  Bhatia was named the event's Most Valuable Pitcher.  Shook was named the event's Most Valuable Player.  Congrats to the entire 17U Jaguars team for their fine performance on the diamond last weekend!

In other news, the 17U Jaguars victory made it two 6-4-3 bracket championship wins in one day for head coach Brett Beasley.  Coach Beasley's 10U Cougars squad also won their bracket on Sunday!
