COACHES COMMENTS:

Hyl is a very smart young man with advanced baseball instincts.  Hyl is an outfielder and a middle INF. He is a very good option on the mound as well.  At the plate, Hyl has a very efficient swing and gets the most out of his body.  He uses the whole field very well and backspins the ball well.  He is never overmatched and has the ability to slow the game down at the plate.   In the infield, Hyl has a lot of range and a very soft glove.  He gets rid of the ball effortlessly with clean footwork and an accurate throwing arm.  He is comfortable on both sides of the bag and turns a very good double play.  In the outfield, Hyl takes very good angles, gets good jumps, and has good speed.  He cuts off balls in the gap and knows where to throw the ball.  He is comfortable at all 3 outfield spots and has the tools for them as well.  On the mound, Hyl is a strike throwing machine.  He throws to both sides of the plate very well and throws both off speed pitches comfortably. All 3 of his pitches have good depth and he is a great competitor. Hyl is very effective in relief because of his mound presence and confidence.  As Hyl continues to mature, he will have the opportunity to play at the next level for a top program.

Hyl has committed to play college baseball at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, AL.
