Macon, Georgia -
On February 28, Mercer University hosted the University of Notre Dame in Macon, Georgia. The contest reunited six (6) former 6-4-3 players: (L-R in picture) Charlie Madden, Jake Johnson, Conrad Cornell, Sean Guenther, Stephen Taylor and Matt Meeder (not pictured). Johnson and Guenther are members of the Fighting Irish baseball team while Madden, Cornell, Taylor and Meeder all play for the Mercer Bears. Madden and Meeder were part of the talented 6-4-3 Class of 2013. Johnson, Cornell, Guenther and Taylor were all part of the talented 6-4-3 Class of 2014.
In the 8-2 winning effort for Notre Dame, Jake Johnson (CF) collected a hit, scored a run, and registered a walk while Sean Guenther (RP) struck out three in a strong relief pitching outing spanning 1.1 scoreless innings of work. For Mercer, Matt Meeder (SS) collected a hit and a walk at the plate.
