6-4-3 DP Baseball alum, Sean Guenther, selected by Miami Marlins in 2017 MLB Draft

Marietta, Georgia -

On behalf of the entire 6-4-3 DP Baseball organization and its wide reaching family, the 6-4-3 staff is thrilled to relay news that Sean Guenther (Class of 2014), junior left handed pitcher at the University of Notre Dame, was drafted yesterday by the Miami Marlins with the 209th overall pick (7th Round) in the 2017 MLB Draft.  6-4-3 is incredibly proud of Sean and this impressive personal accomplishment in his journey as a ballplayer.

According to an article on und.com by Michael Scholl, "Guenther emerged as the Irish closer in 2017, as the southpaw saved seven games while posting a 2.64 ERA and striking out 69 in 58.0 innings. He ranked eighth in the ACC in ERA. In his career, Guenther owns 13 saves and six victories to go with an ERA of 3.50 and 153 strikeouts in 182.1 innings."

Sean was a prep student-athlete at the Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia, and a member of 6-4-3 academy teams at the 16 and 17-year-old age groups.  As a player at 6-4-3, Sean earned the 2012 16U Cougars Pitcher of the Year award and the 2012 6-4-3 (organization wide) Pitcher of the Year honor.

Sean is now the third highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history behind Drew Waters and Kent Emanuel.  The 6-4-3 staff congratulates Sean and wishes him the very best in his continued baseball career!
