Kevin Smith (6-4-3 Class of 2015) becomes 3rd highest MLB Draft pick in 6-4-3 history - 6-4-3 Athletics

Since its creation in 2007, 6-4-3 DP Baseball has experienced many reasons to celebrate and many “firsts” to share. In our short existence as a best-in-class baseball academy, 253 student-athletes (and counting) from 6-4-3 have earned the opportunity to play collegiate baseball. In addition, twenty-one (21) total players within the 6-4-3 organization have been selected in the MLB Draft from 2008-2017.

The 2018 MLB Draft held June 4-6 was another significant and historic event for the 6-4-3 DP Baseball organization. 2018 is the sixth consecutive year that a 6-4-3 player/alum has been drafted. To date, twenty-two players from within the 6-4-3 organization (including 2018 draftee) have been selected in the MLB Draft.

6-4-3 extends a hearty congratulations to Kevin Smith (6-4-3 Class of 2015 and LHP for the University of Georgia) for being selected in the 7th round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the New York Mets with the 200th overall pick. Kevin Smith is now the third highest drafted player in 6-4-3's history having been selected with the 200th overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft. Notes: Drew Waters was taken 41^st overall in th 2017 MLB Draft and remains the highest drafted 6-4-3 player in the organization's history. Kent Emanuel was taken 74^th overall in the 2013 MLB Draft and remains the 2^nd highest drafted player in 6-4-3’s history. Sean Guenther was selected in the 2017 MLB Draft with the 209^th overall pick and is now the 4th highest drafted player in 6-4-3’s history.

2018 is the sixth consecutive year that a 6-4-3 player/alum has been selected in the MLB Draft. 6-4-3 would also like to congratulate former player, Davis Sharpe, who was selected in the 2018 MLB Draft as well.

Being selected in the MLB Draft is a tremendous accomplishment and honor for hardworking, talented, and dedicated young men and their supportive families. The MLB Draft also offers a tremendous source of pride for the 6-4-3 DP Baseball organization when one our own is validated with an opportunity to become a professional baseball player. 6-4-3 is incredibly proud of the young men who have had their name called in the MLB Draft.
