6-4-3 DP Baseball's 10U Cougars win Georgia USSSA State Championship

McDonough, Georgia

The 6-4-3 DP Cougars won the 10U USSSA State Championship (Major) this past weekend at Red Hawk Park in McDonough, GA.  The 10U Cougars went 8-1 in the tournament, placing them in the number one spot in Georgia’s USSSA power rankings. The Cougars began the tournament with a loss Friday afternoon, putting them immediately in the loser’s bracket of the double-elimination tournament. This meant that the Cougars would need 8 straight wins with only 9 players in order to take the title.

Every player contributed and played a crucial role in their victory:
  • Kenton Collier dominated the highly ranked MGBA Bulldogs, pitching 3 outstanding innings, making a spectacular diving catch in centerfield, and hitting an inside-the-park homerun.
  • KK Towe had several big hits and bunts, played well at shortstop, and threw a five-inning shutout, allowing only 3 hits and 1 walk in the championship.
  • Ryan Novak caught every inning, and his 2 RBI double gave the Cougars the boost they needed in order to take game 1 of the championship against the East Cobb Colt 45’s.
  • Zeke Moore pitched 5 innings against the GA Octane and only allowed 1 hit.
  • Bernard Moon was a presence at the plate, giving the team a 2-out, walk-off single to defeat Signature Park.
  • Logan Geter pitched 5 innings over two games and contributed at the plate with consistent hitting and in the outfield with some outstanding plays.
  • Ramsey Robertson pitched 4 innings for the Cougars in the first championship game, allowing only 2 hits.
  • Harrison Weber extended his scoreless-inning streak on the mound to 8 with his solid work against the Atlanta Dodgers and then again against the GA Heat.
  • Cooper Davidson relieved Collier in the Bulldogs game, shutting the big hitting team down for 2 innings.  Cooper’s clutch hitting and savvy bunting were essential in the tournament.
Congratulations 10U Cougars on your impressive performance and Championship win!
