6-4-3 DP Baseball's 14U Cougars win PG One Day Showdown

Marietta, Georgia

On February 19 and in the first tournament of their season, the 6-4-3 DP Cougars 14U squad started their winning ways early by claiming the championship in their opening event of the 2017 spring season.

The 14U Cougars beat a very strong Roadrunner team by the score of 7-2 in one of the semi-final games.  In the other semi-final game, the 6-4-3 DP Jaguars 14U beat another strong squad, the 6-4-3 DP Tigers 14U, in a very close game that ended with a score of 4-3.  After pool play game records were tallied, all three 6-4-3 teams advanced into the “final 4” – the Tigers were the #1 seed by allowing only one run in their first two games, the Cougars were the #3 seed, and the Jaguars grabbed the #4 seed.   Eventually in the championship game, the Cougars edged the Jaguars by the narrow margin of 9-8.  The weekend’s performance was a great job by all 6-4-3 players and coaches kicking off the season on a fun, positive note!  Congratulations to the 14U Cougars, Tigers and Jaguars for their early season success!

A special congratulations goes out to CJ Gordon from the 6-4-3 DP Jaguars for earning Most Valuable Pitcher of the tournament honors and Christian Smith (pictured below) from the 6-4-3 DP Cougars for earning the honor of Most Valuable Player of the tournament!
