6-4-3 DP Baseball shines in Spring Invitational tournament

On Sunday, March 20th, the 2016 6-4-3 Spring Invitational tournament came to a close in Marietta, Georgia.  With the weather cooperating, the tournament featured a great weekend of baseball competition.   6-4-3 DP Baseball thanks the twelve teams across the 11U and 12U age groups that participated: 11U age group - 6-4-3 DP Tigers, 6-4-3 DP Cougars, 6-4-3 DP Jaguars, Sandy Plains Prowlers, Elite Gamers - Turner, and Team Georgia; 12U age group - 6-4-3 DP Cougars, 6-4-3 DP Tigers, Triple Play Cats, East Cobb Colt 45s, Homeplate Chilidogs - Bonner, and South Forsyth Giants.  

In the 11U age group, the 6-4-3 DP Cougars went 5-0 on the weekend to claim the tournament title.  The 11U Cougars played solid baseball throughout the weekend and maximized strong contributions from all players. They outscored their opponents by a margin of 56-13 over the weekend.  The pitching staff threw strikes the whole weekend and the team defense was outstanding.  During their winning streak, the 11U Cougars defeated Team Georgia by the score of 11-0, the Sandy Plains Prowlers by the score of 8-4, the Elite Gamers by the score of 6-1, the 6-4-3 DP Tigers by the score of 17-2 (Semifinal game) and the Elite Gamers by the score of 14-6 (Championship game).

In the 12U age group, the 6-4-3 DP Cougars also went a perfect 5-0 on the weekend to claim the tournament title.  The 12U Cougars pounded out 69 runs over the weekend and battled hard to beat a very talented ECB Colt 45's in a slug fest of a Championship game.  To claim the title, the 12U Cougars earned victories over the ECB Colt 45's by the score of 7-4, the South Forsyth Giants by the score of 20-1, the Homeplate Chilidogs (Bonner) by the score of 20-9, the 6-4-3 DP Tigers by the score of 10-5 (Semifinal game) and the ECB Colt 45's by the score of 12-9 (Championship game).
