More on Charlie Madden: Charlie, a 2013 graduate of Dunwoody High School, is a 6-4-3 DP Baseball alumnus. He played his college baseball at Mercer University where, as a sophomore, he helped the Bears win the Southern Conference and reach the NCAA tournament, and was named to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional All-Tournament team. After the 2016 season, Charlie was selected in the 25th round by the Chicago White Sox, but elected to return to Mercer for another season. He was then selected in the 24th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox. In 2018, Charlie spent time with both A and AA Red Sox affiliates, and made headlines by going 5-for-5 in one game for the Greenville Drive!
What is Included: This is an intensive two-day clinic. Players will take part in drills intended to improve their framing, blocking, and throwing. Weather permitting, we will be on the field to work on throws to bases and pop times.
Who Should Come: Players ages 12+ who are serious about developing as catchers. While we hope this clinic will be enjoyable, we are also structuring it in a way to send you home tired. So, come ready to work!
What to Bring: All necessary catcher’s gear (you will not be able to participate if you are not wearing a cup), a water bottle, and a snack if desired. Dress comfortably and warmly, knowing that we will be both inside and outside. Bring tennis shoes/turfs in addition to spikes/cleats, please.
