6-4-3 DP Baseball alumni in Major League Baseball

Marietta, Georgia (Cobb County)

Since the first 6-4-3 teams were formed in 2007 and over the evolving success of the organization, 6-4-3 has witnessed thirty (35) of its players drafted or signed by Major League Baseball (MLB) clubs.  Only a select few of those impressively talented players have risen through the minor leagues to a big league, MLB roster.

To date, the following 6-4-3 players have earned an opportunity to compete at the highest level in the world on a Major League Baseball roster:

  1. Kent Emanuel (LHP) - 6-4-3 Class of 2010 - debuted with the Houston Astros on April 24, 2021.  In his wildly successful and impressive debut, Kent was the first pitcher since 1974 (John Montefusco) to pitch 8+ innings in relief and get the win in his MLB debut.  In his first MLB outing, Kent pitched 8.2 innings, logged 5 Ks, gave up 0 Walks, 2 runs, and 5 hits, en route to earning his first Win.  Note: Kent played collegiately at the University of North Carolina.
  2. Sean Guenther (LHP) - 6-4-3 Class of 2014 - debuted with the Miami Marlins on August 4, 2021.  In his successful debut, Sean pitched a scoreless inning while striking out two.  Note: Sean played collegiately at the University of Notre Dame.
  3. Drew Waters (OF) - 6-4-3 Class of 2017 - debuted with the Kansas City Royals on August 22, 2022.  In his debut, Drew helped the Royals win by the final score of 6-4 by drawing a go ahead, bases loaded walk in the 8th inning.  Note: Drew was drafted out of Etowah High School in the 2017 MLB Draft with the 41st overall pick.

The 6-4-3 staff is incredibly proud of Kent, Sean, and Drew and their professional accomplishments.  We continue to cheer for them from afar, and wish them continued MLB success!
