Since its creation in 2007, 6-4-3 DP Baseball has experienced many reasons to celebrate. In our relatively short existence as a best-in-class baseball academy, over 400 student-athletes (and counting) from 6-4-3 have earned the opportunity to play collegiate baseball. In addition, 28 players within the 6-4-3 organization have been selected in the MLB Draft from 2008-2021.
The 2021 MLB Draft (July 11-13) was another significant and historic event for the 6-4-3 organization. 2021 is the ninth consecutive year that a 6-4-3 player/alum has been drafted. Five players from within the 6-4-3 organization were selected in the 2021 MLB Draft, and another was signed as an undrafted free agent.
6-4-3 extends a hearty congratulations to Ryan Webb (6-4-3 Class of 2017 and LHP for UGA) for being selected in the 4th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians. As a prep athlete, Webb played for Pope High School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball for many years. Ryan Webb is now the third highest drafted player in 6-4-3's history having been selected with the 125th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. Notes: Drew Waters was taken 41st overall in the 2017 MLB Draft and remains the highest drafted 6-4-3 player in the organization's history. Kent Emanuel was taken 74th overall in the 2013 MLB Draft and remains the 2nd highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history. Carson Taylor was taken 130th overall in the 2020 MLB Draft and is now the 4th highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history. Brant Hurter was taken 195th overall in the 2021 MLB Draft and is now the 5th highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history. Kevin Smith was taken 200th overall in the 2018 MLB Draft and is now the 6th highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history.
6-4-3 also extends a hearty congratulations to Brant Hurter (6-4-3 Class of 2017 and LHP for Georgia Tech) for being selected in the 7th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers with the 195th overall pick. As a prep athlete, Hurter played for Woodstock High School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball for several seasons.
6-4-3 also extends a hearty congratulations to Fraser Ellard (6-4-3 Class of 2016 and LHP for Liberty University) for being selected in the 8th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox with the 245th overall pick. As a prep athlete, Ellard played for 6-4-3 DP Baseball during his 17 and 18U seasons.
6-4-3 also extends a hearty congratulations to Ben Harris (6-4-3 Class of 2018 and LHP for UGA) for being selected in the 8th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 252nd overall pick. As a prep athlete, Harris played for Milton High School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball for several seasons. Harris is the second 6-4-3 alum to be drafted by the Dodgers in as many years (Carson Taylor - 2020 MLB Draft).
6-4-3 also extends a hearty congratulations to Tyler Tolve (6-4-3 Class of 2018 and C/OF for Kennesaw State University) for being selected in the 17th round of the 2021 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves with the 517th overall pick. As a prep athlete, Tolve played for Sprayberry High School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball for many years. Tolve is the sixth 6-4-3 alum to be drafted by the Braves since 2015.
6-4-3 also extends a hearty congratulations to Zach Cable (6-4-3 Class of 2016 and RHP for Oklahoma State) for being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago White Sox. As a prep athlete, Cable played for River Ridge High School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball for many years.
Being selected in the MLB Draft is a tremendous accomplishment and honor for hardworking, talented, and dedicated young men and their supportive families. The MLB Draft also offers a tremendous source of pride for the 6-4-3 DP Baseball organization when one our own is validated with an opportunity to become a professional baseball player. 6-4-3 is incredibly proud of the young men who have had their name called in the MLB Draft or earned a contract from an MLB team.
