Coaches win 1st Annual Coaches vs. Seniors Charity Baseball Game

Marietta, Georgia (Cobb County)

Over 300 spectators and participants enjoyed The 6-4-3 Foundation’s 1st Annual 6-4-3 Coaches vs Senior Players baseball game last week at Aviation Sports Complex! Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. Your generosity and enthusiasm generated nearly $5,000 to further the foundation’s mission in the community.

The 7-inning game served as an opportunity for 6-4-3’s baseball coaches to show their skills to all players and families while bringing together the 6-4-3 community for a fun afternoon of competition. Team Coaches won the fundraising portion by having the most money raised in their name. The Coaches also won the baseball game by a score of 6-2.

The morning started with younger players shagging fly balls during batting practice. In between innings, many youth players participated in trivia, the dizzy bat challenge, a water balloon toss, and more festivities. The crowd heard from three moms of senior players as well as 6-4-3 DP Baseball’s Danny Pralgo and The 6-4-3 Foundation’s Mary Litman. At the conclusion of the game, Most Valuable Pitcher TJ Pagan and MVP Skylar McPhee received a round of applause. While the coaches may have won the game, the McCauley family won the 50/50 raffle.  Congrats!

WHAT’S NEXT?

The charity game also served as the official kickoff of The 6-4-3 Foundation’s Stock the Pantry drive.  All competitors were asked to bring items to donate as their “entry fee.”  We were already able to deliver 2 barrels of food and toiletries to Marietta High School’s Student Life Center. This foundation initiative, in its third year, is underway until June 22 with barrels and flyers located throughout Aviation Sports Complex. Cash donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase additional pantry needs.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Finally, we would love to see you at Glover Park Brewery on Wednesday, June 21st from 4 – 10 pm. Glover Park has cocktails and beer on tap and has recently added wine to its lineup. The 6-4-3 Foundation will receive 10% of beverage sale proceeds that evening. The food truck for that evening has not been announced, but we’ll keep you updated!
