The 6-4-3 Foundation awards 2021 Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship to Josh Katz

6-4-3 DP Baseball celebrated its 2020-2021 season on December 19, 2021, with its annual awards ceremony.  Virtual for the second time in as many years, the ceremony was a wonderful event that celebrated the accomplishments of the 2021 6-4-3 academy teams and players.  The 2021 Awards Ceremony can be watched on 6-4-3's YouTube channel.  A host of individual, team and special awards were awarded at the 2021 ceremony.  The 6-4-3 Foundation also announced its annual Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship award at the ceremony.  The 6-4-3 Foundation, the charitable arm of 6-4-3 DP Athletics, was launched in 2013 and continues to do impactful work in the local community.  

This year marks the 8th consecutive year that the Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship was awarded to a graduating 6-4-3 student-athlete embarking on his college journey. The 2021 recipient of the Kelly and Mike Price Scholarship award was Josh Katz, now a freshman student-athlete at Emory University.  Select comments from the award presentation for Josh are as follows: "Josh is a recent graduate of Riverwood International Charter School where he graduated in the top 5% of his class.  He achieved numerous academic awards and recognition including Member of National Honor Society, AP Scholar Award, Spanish Honor Society, UGA Certificate of Merit, Furman Scholar, 8x Principal’s Honor Role among the more significant.  Josh also had an esteemed high school career in athletics earning 4 year varsity letters in baseball.  During high school, he earned Defensive Player of the Year honors, and as a senior was named First-Team All Region as well as the team MVP.  In addition, Josh has actively participated in several community and civic activities throughout his high school tenure.  These activities included Young Men’s Service League where he served as the Leadership Chair, several instances of tutoring other students both at the Riverwood Math Center and Sandy Spring Mission, and was the Discussion Leader for the Confirmation Class at Temple Sinai of Atlanta."  The entire 6-4-3 staff congratulates Josh for his well-deserved recognition!
