Amaree Griffin had a tremendous year for the 14U 6-4-3 DP Cougars leading up to his selection for the 14U Perfect Game Select Festival last month. In Perfect Game events this past season, he led the Cougars team in innings pitched (54) while posting a 1.94 ERA. He also held opponents to a batting average of .172 and recorded 88 strikeouts on the year.  In addition, he was a top performer offensively posting a .363 AVG, .442 OBP, and .588 slugging percentage. Griffin also led the team in homeruns (3) and stolen bases (27).

Griffin’s strong performance throughout the year earned him an invite to the Perfect Game 14U National Showcase at the end of the summer.  At the 14U National Showcase, Griffin competed with, and against, what is deemed to be the top 200-300 players in his class. Throwing 82% strikes in three innings, he dominated on the mound while being clocked up to 86 MPH on his fastball. He showed well offensively with multiple extra base hits, and also showed high level speed as a runner with a 6.88 time in the 60-yard dash. This was the seventh fastest running time clocked at the event.

Griffin's year-long performance and his success at the 14U National Showcase secured his invitation to the 14U Perfect Game Select Festival in Fort Myers, Florida, where he competed for the East Squad. At the festival, Griffin pitched one inning giving up zero runs and had two strikeouts. In his one at-bat, he had a single and scored a run.  The Select Festival is Perfect Game’s premier all-star game event for youth age groups. Perfect Game selects the top 30-50 players across the nation and beyond to compete in an East vs. West exhibition game. The selection to participate is Perfect Game’s highest individual honor that can be bestowed upon an 11U-14U player.

Griffin is currently ranked as the #2 LHP and the #36 overall prospect in the class of 2027 by Perfect Game. He also received the Top 2-Way Prospect Award at the 14U National Showcase awards ceremony.

As an organization and staff, we are very proud of Amaree Griffin’s achievements and how he represented 6-4-3 this past year.  Now a member of the 15U 6-4-3 DP Cougars, we look forward to following Griffin’s future success into 2024 and beyond!
