COACHES COMMENTS: 

Hayes is a wiry athlete that continues to get more physical week in and week out. Hayes is a two way athlete that finds himself on the left side of the infield and on the mound, but has the ability to also play corner outfield. Hayes features a short, quick arm that carries well on all parts of the diamond. In the infield, Hayes attacks hops well and trusts his hands out in front on two hand and one hand plays. On the mound, Hayes has the ability to throw any pitch in any count and features a plus changeup that allows him to pitch backwards and also helps him keeps hitter off of his fastball. His fastball has some arm side run with some depth that allows him to control the inner half of the plate and consistently get inside of barrels. At the plate Hayes’ best attribute is his contact and his ability to consistently put the ball in play and put pressure on the defense.
