Chase is a right-handed pitcher with confident mound presence. Chase commands the fastball well and his quick tempo keeps him and his defense in rhythm throughout an outing. He offers a three pitch mix of a heavy FB, CB, and CH. Bascunan has the ability to throw his offspeed pitches down in the zone and has great feel for his breaking ball in any count. His FB has late life that gets on hitters quickly and has much more in the tank as he continues to develop. Chase attacks hitters and wants the ball in big games. He has more in the tank and his body will continue to develop and get more physical in the next couple of years. Chase’s work ethic, academics, and pitch ability will make him a good piece for a college program.
