COACHES COMMENTS:
Derek is a catcher, third baseman, and right-handed pitcher. He is new to our organization and has shown the ability to be a leader right away. He is a good receiver behind the plate and gives our pitchers a lot of confidence on the mound. In the infield, his arm works well across the diamond and throws a lot of strikes on the mound. He does not get cheated at the plate getting his best swing off early in counts.
