6-4-3 DP Baseball's 18U Cougars finish as finalist in PBR Cup

Marietta, Georgia (Cobb County)

Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Cougars 18U squad for finishing as a finalist in the PBR Cup last weekend!

After wet weather shortened pool play to just two games, the 18U Cougars headed into bracket play as the #9 seed. In the first round of bracket play, the 18U Cougars faced Power Baseball Platinum. Reece Robertson and Colt McKibben held the power 5 lineup to just one run. Jake Streeter hit a 3-run opposite field bomb that would end up being the difference for the Cougars.

In the Elite 8, the Cougars found the #1 seed, Team Indiana, waiting for them. The 18U Cougars went down 4-0 early, but continued to scratch their way back throughout the game to eventually win by the final score of 5-4. William May was dominant in relief with four scoreless innings pitched.  As a result, the 18U Cougars advanced to the finals of this grand event, however Mother Nature did not cooperate. Championship day was cancelled due to the inclement weather resulting in no official champion.

It was a phenomenal weekend for the 18U Cougars as every single player contributed a significant role at some point during this loaded tournament event!  Congrats again boys!
