COACHES COMMENTS:
Hampton is a 2024 corner infielder and pitcher. Hampton does a good job of playing low to the ground which allows his good footwork to help him make plays. He has a strong arm when making backhands and throwing across the infield. At 1B, Hampton is a big target that works the bag very well, he saves infielders a lot of errors throughout a season. On the mound, Hampton has a heavy FB that induces a lot of soft contact. Hampton’s CB is his strike out pitch, it does a great job of starting out for a strike, but a lot of late break makes it unhittable. At the plate, Hampton has power to all fields and consistently drives the ball over outfielder’s heads. He does a good job of knowing his approach and sticking with it which allows him to have success. He has very good baseball IQ that allows him to be an extra coach out on the field and is a great student.
