Since its creation in 2007, 6-4-3 DP Baseball has experienced many reasons to celebrate. In our relatively short existence as a best-in-class baseball academy, over 550 student-athletes (and counting) from 6-4-3 have earned the opportunity to play collegiate baseball! In addition, 30 players within the 6-4-3 organization have been selected in the MLB Draft from 2008-2022!
The 2023 MLB Draft (July 9-11) was another significant and historic event for the 6-4-3 organization. 2023 is the eleventh consecutive year that a 6-4-3 player/alum has been drafted! Three more 6-4-3 alums have earned the opportunity to play professionally with MLB organizations.
6-4-3 extends a hearty congratulations to Ty Floyd (6-4-3 Class of 2020 and RHP for Louisiana State University) for being selected 38th overall in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds. As a prep athlete, Floyd starred at Rockmart High School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball for many years. Ty Floyd is now the second highest player drafted in 6-4-3's history and first 6-4-3 player to be selected by the Cincinnati Reds. Notes: Druw Jones was taken 2nd overall in the 2022 MLB Draft and is the highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history. Drew Waters was taken 41st overall in the 2017 MLB Draft and is now the 3rd highest drafted 6-4-3 player in the organization's history. Kent Emanuel was taken 74th overall in the 2013 MLB Draft and is now the 4th highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history. Ryan Webb is now the 5th highest drafted player in 6-4-3's history having been selected with the 125th overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. Carson Taylor was taken 130th overall in the 2020 MLB Draft and is now the 6th highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history. Brant Hurter was taken 195th overall in the 2021 MLB Draft and is now the 7th highest drafted player in 6-4-3 history.
6-4-3 also extends a hearty congratulations to Liam Sullivan (6-4-3 Class of 2020 and LHP for the University of Georgia) for being selected in the 13th round of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals with the 375th overall pick. As a prep athlete, Sullivan played for the Marist School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball.
6-4-3 also extends a hearty congratulations to Austin Emener (6-4-3 Class of 2020 and LHP for University of North Alabama & East Tennessee State University) for being selected in the 16th round of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Colorado Rockies with the 472th overall pick. As a prep athlete, Emener played for the First Presbyterian Day School and 6-4-3 DP Baseball. Emener is the first 6-4-3 player to be selected by the Colorado Rockies.
6-4-3 would also like to congratulate former players Carlson Reed (RHP / Univ. of West Virginia) and Mac Heuer (RHP committed to Texas Tech) who were also selected in the 2023 MLB Draft!
Being selected in the MLB Draft is a tremendous accomplishment and honor for hardworking, talented, and dedicated young men and their supportive families. The MLB Draft also offers a tremendous source of pride for the 6-4-3 DP Baseball organization when one our own is validated with an opportunity to become a professional baseball player. 6-4-3 is incredibly proud of the young men who have had their name called in the MLB Draft or earned a contract from an MLB team.
