Marietta, GA -

Pope High School baseball coach Jeff Rowland was one of four baseball coaches recently inducted into the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame.  Rowland is currently entering his 21st season with the Pope Greyhounds – an impressive feat of longevity.  Rowland has also enjoyed great success in a very tough Cobb County area including capturing state championships with his players in 2009 and 2013.  In the 2012 season, Rowland earned his 300th career victory.

Coach Rowland also serves as an assistant coach with 6-4-3 DP Baseball and has been in its summer coaching ranks for three seasons.  Matt Liedberg, 6-4-3 staff member and coach,  played for Coach Rowland from 2008-2009 and was a member of Pope’s 2009 state championship team.  “Coach Rowland’s passion for coaching and teaching student-athletes has contributed greatly to his on-field success. He genuinely cares for all of his players, both past and present, and continues to stay in touch with them long after their playing days at Pope,” commented Liedberg.  The entire 6-4-3 staff congratulates Coach Rowland on his induction into the Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Fame and wishes him the very best this spring season as he marches on towards his 400th career win…and many more highlights!
