6-4-3 DP Baseball's 12U Jaguars win PG Georgia State Championship Silver Bracket

Marietta, Georgia (Cobb County)

Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Jaguars 12U squad for winning the Perfect Game Georgia State Championship (Minor) Silver Bracket on Mother’s Day.   The Jags started off slow going 0-2 in pool play.  The poor start meant the Jags would have to win 4 bracket games, all as the visitor, to pull off the Silver Bracket Championship.  Bracket play for the Jags started on Saturday with a decisive victory over the Sequoyah Chiefs with Aaron Best throwing a 4-hit, 6 inning complete game and going 2-3 at the plate while driving in a run.  Sunday morning started with a 8-2 win over The Hood with Johnny Deaderick starting the game on the bump and Thomas Byrne closing it out with 2.2 scoreless innings.  Christopher Kuzniak and Chase Beasley both drove in two runs.  In a hard fought semi-final game, the Jags were victorious over Ninth Inning in a contest that ended with the tying run picked-off at third in the bottom of the 6th by Kingston Jones.   In the finals, the Jags faced Titans Orange and quickly went down 5-0.  In the fifth inning they clawed back to 5-3 only to give up a run in the bottom of the frame.  The bats came alive in the top of the sixth inning where the Jags scored 5 runs to secure an 8-6 lead.  Chase Beasley faced 5 batters in the bottom of the 6th striking out the Titans two-hole hitter to end the game.

Thanks to the Jaguar moms for giving up your Mother's Day to watch baseball.  Coach TJ even had his mother down from Philadelphia to help the boys pull off 3 Sunday wins!  Congrats to Coach TJ and the players for the first tournament championship of the year for the 12u Jags!
