6-4-3 DP Baseball's 12U Tigers win PBR March Madness

Congratulations to 6-4-3 DP Baseball’s 12U Tigers for winning the PBR March Madness tournament last weekend! 

Game Recaps

Game 1 (Pool play): The Tigers played on Friday night against the East Cobb Yankees and lost by the score of 7-3.  Offensively, Holden Wagner, Connor Patel and Chase Bredickas each had 1 hit. On the mound the Tigers were led by Sam Harris who went 2.2 innings allowing only 1 earned run.

Game 2 (Pool play): The Tigers played on Saturday night against the GBA Spiked Nine prospect team and won the game by the score of 15-2 after collecting 11 hits.  Kyle Coleman led the way at the plate going 2-2.  On the mound Jamal Burton and Caleb Vigna combined to pitch the game allowing only 2 earned runs while striking out 6.

Game 3 (1st round of bracket play):  The Tigers played again on Saturday night and again faced the same GBA prospect team and won by the score of 15-0 after collecting 10 hits.  Connor Patel and Holden Wagner each had 2 hits.  Daniel Cubides pitched the game giving up only 1 hit and striking out 7.

Game 4 (Semifinals):  The Tigers played on Sunday against the East Cobb Astros Navy and won the game by the score of 3-2.  Down 2-0 with two out in the top of the 6th inning, Connor Patel had a 9 pitch at bat ending in a single up the middle.  From there the Tigers were able to load the bases and, with some stellar baserunning, were able to eventually take the lead.  On the mound the Tigers were led by Chase Bredickas who went 4 innings giving up only 1 earned run and striking out 7.   Owen McKeeby pitched the final 2 innings allowing 0 earned runs and striking out 4.

Game 5 (Championship game): The Tigers played again on Sunday and faced Naturals Baseball.  We won the game 9-3 while picking up 10 hits.  Caleb Vigna, Kyle Coleman, Sam Harris and Jamal Burton each had 2 hits.  Pitching was a team effort – Sam Harris went 2 innings allowing 0 Runs, Jamal Burton went 2 innings allowing 0 earned runs, Holden Wagner went 1+ innings allowing only 1 earned run and Owen McKeeby pitched the final inning allowing 0 runs and striking out 2.

Weekend Summary Highlights

On the mound the Tigers were led by Owen McKeeby, Chase Bredickas and Sam Harris who combined for 13.2 innings allowing 4 earned runs and striking out 17 batters.

At the plate, the Tigers truly contributed a team effort as the lineup pounded out 40 hits over the 5 games.  Everyone on the team had at least 1 hit.  The team also had 30 stolen bases over the 5 games led by Chase Bredickas who had 8 stolen bases including a straight steal of home.
