Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Panthers 14U squad for winning three games on Sunday, October 30, to claim the Sunday Series #7 (Minor) Pool A Championship for their second Sunday Series Championship of the fall! The 14U Panthers fired on all cylinders against their first opponent winning by a score of 13-4. Game #2 of the day was a closer 7-5 victory, and the championship game pitted the Panthers against the same team they beat in the morning. The championship game was a close contest with the Panthers winning by the narrow margin of 7-6. The decisive run came on a steal of home on a past ball after the Panthers executed a perfect suicide squeeze play to give the Panthers the lead for good.
Coach Bowers pushed all the right buttons at the right time and made excellent coaching decisions throughout the game including productive stolen bases, hit-and-runs which picked up extra bases for the Panthers, and of course the suicide squeeze.
