Gifts made in memory of Coach Darren Bowers

Marietta, Georgia (Cobb County)

On February 27, 2023, 6-4-3 lost one of its head coaches to an unexpected cardiac event.

For decades, Darren Bowers coached youth baseball teams in the Greater Atlanta area and elsewhere. Starting in 2019, Coach Bowers served 6-4-3 as an assistant coach with the 13u Jaguars, 14u Tigers, 16u Panthers, 17u Tigers, and 18u Cougars. In the 2022-2023 season, Coach Bowers served as the head coach for the 14u Panthers until his death.

Coach Bowers impacted many lives on the field and many off the field. He was not only a coach, but also a friend and mentor to many.

To honor Darren’s life, funds were collected after his passing.  Three recent gifts were made in memory of Coach Bowers:
  1. $468 was given to the Dave Krache Foundation - an organization that funds sports participation for young people in the metro Atlanta area
  2. $425 was given to L.E.A.D. - an organization whose mission is to empower an at-risk generation to lead and transform their city so they can become Ambassadors who lead Atlanta to lead the world
  3. $425 was given to The 6-4-3 Foundation’s need-based scholarship program that assists players and families with financial hardships to be able to play on 6-4-3 academy teams.
We think Darren would be pleased with these actions and the generosity of many who loved and appreciated him.
